Half Term

Looking for something for the children to do through the school holidays? Look no further than Kiln Stables’ half term activities in Farnham, Surrey to keep your kids occupied.

We are offering fully supervised pony days from 9.30-4pm. The days include 2-3 hours of riding as well as caring for the ponies- learning to tack up, groom, muck out, prepare feeds, lead the horses and generally build confidence around the animals and the yard. The day is fun and instructive with a hands on approach to learning and plenty of games to keep the children enjoying it. These days are suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced riders and we take children from 5years old.

We are also offering on Wednesday in the half term a mini Pony Club Camp, which is an introduction to the sorts of  day you would have on a real camp with the Pony Club and is suitable for more proficient riders aged 10-16yrs. First job of the day is to muck out your horse’s stable, make his feeds, give hay and water and then prepare him for the tack and turnout inspection. We will then have a dressage lesson in the morning focusing on BHS Stage 1 syllabus. There is an interactive session about horse health and herding instinct and how to look after a horse kept on grass. After lunch there is another ride- either hacking, gymkhana, or jumping depending on ability and group size. This is followed by un-tacking, rugging up, re-feeding and cleaning the tack. A much more challenging day for 10+ and teenagers who have already got all the basics sorted.

The full days are £79 and we offer a discount for bulk booking. It may be possible according to space to offer a half day at £45 each.

We offer well trained ponies, qualified instructors and full supervision.
