Ethos

Kiln Stables Livery, Farnham has been established for over 25 years and we pride ourselves on our love and care of all the horses on our yard. Our Natural Horsemanship background, BHS qualified staff and wealth of experience ensure that your horse is in safe, knowledgeable, respectful and caring hands.

Horses need a regular routine and want a schedule that reflects their natural behaviour. That is why we have 40 acres of turnout for only 28 stables. Every horse can go out all day in large paddocks either individually or with 2 or 3 “friends” of the same gender, depending on your preference.

All our horses have traditional thick shavings beds so they can lie down, not just rubber matting which can be cold and uncomfortable. We feed quality hay or hayledge add lib and can tailor any feeding requirements to suit your horse’s needs.

Facilities

We have a 60m x 30m indoor school, a 40m x 20m floodlit outdoor school (both with high quality pvc and sand surface and rubber top), a white-board dressage arena on grass and a summer jumping paddock with a brand new set of polyjumps including skinnys and water-trays and fillers.

We have access to extensive hacking in Alice Holt Forest and Frensham Common, with less than a few hundred metres of quiet road work.

We have a secure tack room, lorry parking, CCTV and 24 hour on site supervision. There is a bathroom with a power- shower, a changing room and a common room with tea and coffee facilities.

Services

We can include schooling, training, breaking, lunging, long-lining and competing as required to supplement your horse’s exercise programme and to help you achieve your goals.

We also offer private and group lessons with BHS qualified instructors who focus on the classical seat. We have some very experienced people here to help you get results at grass-roots or up through the affiliated levels of BD, BE and BS.  There are also regular clinics and shows on site.

We can offer tack cleaning, laundry, grooming, pulling, plaiting and clipping as part of your service.

We take care of worming, shoeing, teeth, vets, physio and will hold the horses for you at no added cost. Our vets are Liphook Equine Hospital and Hampshire Equine Clinic but you may of course use your own.

Atmosphere

There is a genuinely friendly, accessible atmosphere at the yard where everyone is made to feel welcome. The sharers and livery owners vary greatly in age, ability and aspirations. Children and novices are well supported.

If you do want to compete, our riders and trainers can help you every step of the way with fittening, all round care and advice.

There is a social scene varying from trips to Olympia and Badminton to weekly pub nights after Wednesday night Dressage Club.

Breaking

Kiln Stables in Farnham, Surrey has over 20 years of experience in breaking in, backing and riding on young horses. We use a blend of natural horsemanship techniques favoured by Monty Roberts as well as more conventional schooling.

www.intelligenthorsemanship.co.uk

We are able to take on young horses for training at any stage of their learning and can produce them through to hacking, jumping and dressage. We train our youngstock to respond to classical aids so that they are able to work in good form.

We prepare horses for a variety of professional and amateur homes and also offer a bomb proofing service for less experienced riders. We have a number of home-bred, home trained horses working in the riding school which are examples of our success, as well as testimonials from happy clients who are now competing their horses.

Schooling

We offer a schooling service either by the hour, on tailored courses or as part of the livery service. In the schooling sessions we can educate the horse or pony either in dressage, jumping, hacking.

We also provide remedial training for horses that are not performing well or have some naughty pony habits. We can tailor courses to acheive specific outcomes or just provide that extra pair of hands to help with exercising, keeping the horse fit and building the horse’s experience.

Competing and Competition Mentoring

We offer a comprehensive service to help young or inexperienced horses and ponies (and riders) to realise their potential. We are able to compete locally in unaffiliated events as well as in British Eventing, British Showjumping and British Dressage.

We also offer a Mentoring Service to help riders enjoy and make the most of their experience competing. This is the perfect introduction for young riders or those new to competing.  Please call to discuss your needs: 01420 520005.
